back to winter...oh joy

Now living in Yorkshire it is essential that you like the colour grey...good job I do as its the colour of my world most of the time...Yesterday evening I was tapping away on the computer trying to set up my new website when an eerie light made its way through the window.....an investigation was made.....camera grabbed.....how amazing is this
Now after a lovely fabric filled week what a fab finale to find a whole stash of fents at the charity shop & won a fabulous curtain on ebay.
Now it was very tempting this week whilst browsing the fabric isles to snaffle the odd metre of liberty away for myself (like I need more) but NO 365 days it is and there are 285 left...
I also got news of the trusty old girl from the man that has been tending to her, after 20 years of reckless stitchery & downright sewing machine abuse the total bill was £94, a new needle holder thingy & screw plus a resistor in the foot pedal, £50 for the service itself, now considering what she has been through (including being dropped several times) I think that is pretty spectacular!
Bernina you ROCK and if you ever need a man knowing in the ways of slightly odd stitchery types & their trusty friends then wander off to Bamber Sewing Machinesin Eccles they are very good.
The other wonder of wonders is that my little sis who for many years has been shying away from the call of the needle with half hearted excuses of left handedness & general 'oh no I couldn't do that' has finally got herself a sewing machine. 'HOORAH' we cry, at last.....although you are not stealing half of my fabric stash on your next visit SUZANNE!
Now i feel for her son, my sweet nephew Callum & Dave the man as there could been a few trials runs with dodgy school bags & pyjama trousers that may cause a little irritation in the nether regions. I await the phone calls & swearing as she tries to understand the wild wonder of free hand embroidery, although i do believe she has a kind offer from the shop where said machine was purchased to contact him any time she needs help....he'll rue the day he made that offer!!!
Only joking sis, you'll be fine & be sewing up a storm before you know it, just not too many phone calls as you know I am a crap teacher & have zero tolerance for foolishness!!!
Where has the time gone, whisked me by in a jiffy and my poor bloggity blog has born the brunt sadly...This week has not been spent with feet on sofa flicking through my favourite mags, or browsing the many wonderful blogs I follow...or eating all the macaroons i made, kids did that for me!
It has indeed been stitch, sew, tidying up mud & various junk, carefully left around the place in order to cause maximum damage & possible death to a mother who nags about it ALL the time
I have also been camera-less since himself whisked it away to Holland without so much as a nod or a wink...not amused was I..
Then there has been the website writing, not a quick & easy task esp when missing the right tools.
But there have been some bonuses I got to go fabric shopping...and the 365 challenge is still intact..phew. I got to visit my favourite fabric shop & buy for other people.
Drooling over the stash for a whole morning before carefully folding, packing and sending it on its merry way...
Other parcels were sent to brighten some dark days...I have always found a little bit of Liberty print goodness brings sunshine to the darkest of times, so the stash was raided & passed on to a friend in need!
So all in all not a bad week other than neglecting my blogging duties...so lets try a little better next week eh!
chocolates & tea in bed...
game pie for dinner & snuggles on the sofa, what more could a mum want....
now its not often that I like to be caught in front of the camera and on most occasions any pictures are destined quickly to the recycle bin never to seen by any other human eye....so being brave I took a self portrait shot to welcome Danielle over at hello owl the wonderful new home of my place and yours....
so my dearest readers a rarity indeed if you would like to play along pop over to hello owl & say helllllooooo

We all had a fab time recently when little sis & my sweetie nephew came to stay for Jake's 12th birthday....a fabulous cake was made, lots of treats were eaten & fun was had by all...
had seen my muse, it was hiding behind a shelf....wafting chocolate biscuits under its nose tempted it back, I am inspired & the loveliest of ladies...Kath & Ann are to be thanked most definitely....
Now whilst bleeping, stacking, shuffling & smiling yesterday in my fabbity fab job at the local library, I was chatting away in the high speed, car chase manner at which I am accustomed, to the loveliest of ladies i could ever hope to spend my working hours with, about my new selling venture (which is almost almost ready to begin).
Now Kath has an understanding of the love of all things vintage & thrifty as her daughter is one of the lucky souls who chooses to walk that path.....and Kath works in an office above the bestest age concern shop EVER...
Now whilst pausing for a slight second in my high speed ramblings Kath mentioned the most inspired lady working at this most excellent of stores, enter Ann.
Now Ann is also a collector of things, but especially those heading for the rubbish bin, unwanted & unloved on the shelves of the shop, those cast aside like an old shoe destined for the dump....
Kath had a quiet word & introductions were made and now I have a like-minded contact in the treasure trove of thrift, my muse has played a trump card..
The second delight of the day was due to the kindest of ladies in the interior design shop where I buy my monthly pot of paint....a whole book of wallpaper samples....given freely, what a delight.
SO my friends, readers & my little sister who is yet to leave a lovely comment for her big sister, my muse is back and definitely playing to win (thank goodness cause to be honest I was getting sick of my own miserable posts)

It's disappeared, i have looked in various places, the sewing machine doesn't have it, the shed, garden, charity shop, wool pile are not hiding it away from me...It could of got left in the fridge whilst I was snacking on rubbish, nutritionally barren food.
Even the spring sunshine is not doing it for me...its just shown what a crap job of dusting I have done.
The vintage wallpaper stash that always does the trick has failed me, today I shall be a grumpy cow (yes I know those of you that know me well I am often a grumpy cow but at least I usually have a mission).
I have a sneaky feeling that the commonest of colds has ferreted my muse away, so hopefully it'll be back in a few days
