Can you imagine my delight as I opened the package and found this little lovely.....
I did little skip & excitedly showed the man on his return from zooming his bike through the muddy forest & then sat it on my dresser so i could glance it every time i walked past...
Now you may be thinking that this behaviour is a little OTT but let me fill you in...I am not very good with people, I don't do friends very well, nor acquaintances come to that. My small talk skills are non-existent & i don't care very much for the daily chit chat, comparing childcare notes or being interested in mundane rubbish of country village life.
I have been told that I am bossy, out spoken, idealistic & a little intimidating (due to my over achievement of baking, stitching & general stuff), I am also a massive control freak....
I spend most of my days without adult company & prefer it that way...the end result of these maladies is that i rarely get cards for my birthday from anyone but my family (who have to put up with me), no one cares when I'm ill, i don't factor in many peoples thoughts but I am happy with this arrangement, most of the time!
(enter stage right) the internet & the wonderful world of blogs....now this wonderful creation has given me the chance to nosey into other peoples lives & read about their up day's & down day's. Wish them good luck, happy birthday, christmas joy, gasp at their wonderful creations, admire their achievements, coo at the children, dogs, knitting & chickens & other such ho hum stuff.
I even have found a few real gems that I wish were my neighbours & one day it would be lovely to meet them....at last I feel I have made a connection.
So back to the original point, you can now share the delight of receiving this wonderful gift from the peachy perfect Jane (get yourselves over to her site right now...bossy streak you see)
I'm going, I'm going, Miss Bossy!!! :D
ReplyDeleteOh we are so alike my dear, my bloggy sister from far away, it is almost scary... I wrote a very similar something re: a giftie from Lola Nova, and I was nodding along with "...I'm not very good with people.." lol, who'd a thunk it?

How wonderful that we are such a gaggle of misfits and quirky types! What a beautiful gift!
ReplyDeleteI have a great bunch of friends offline but we all have one thing in common...we are all odd in one way or another! It works because we all get it.We all understand and forgive the little things that can sometimes annoy others. I feel like that with my online friends too we all have little quirks that mean we get each other. I'm really glad to have 'met' you maybe one day we will really meet and share a cuppa in your shed? After all we aren't that far away!
ReplyDeleteThat would be lovely Kristy...maybe I should organise a tea & cake gathering in the shed rxxx watch this space
